Mongkong 8th June 1842.
I'm sadid by this Brigade's letter to inform you
that temporary accommodation has been promised
for all the Regiments women and children
which have proceeded to the Northward in
the Detachment at the instance of the General Officer
Commanding in Chief and likewise that as
many more women & children as may be found
on board Transports now in harbour
will be handed over to the Barrack Master
next Friday.
His Excellency begs that he may be
informed of the number of houses that will be required,
that instructions may be issued to have
the necessary alterations made to them.
